Ending on a Formal Note

This is the last post from Jaime's first (we hope it's the first!) fashion show for us. She ended it with a gown that made my gorgeous wife oooo and ahhhh, so I expect that I'll be either in line at one of the gown designers getting her a frock like this of her own soon, or she's already busy designing it herself!

Here's a fashion fun tip- Jaime actually changed her avatar shape for this dress- In a couple of ways, actually, (as she changed first to a "more formal and haughty looking" avatar as she said), but then also changed that one to a shape that had a skinnier set of hips and a smaller bottom- she called it her dress form, because, and I'm not making this up- apparently dresses in Second Life really do make your butt look big!

I've never been one for formal clothing, but she does look glamorous!

Out of my League

When my Second Life wife and Jaime got talking about serious dresses and styles and designs I was lost. I know my way around a bikini and a tee shirt and jeans, but when they got into Jaime's collection of dresses I was out of my depth and wandered off for a while. When I returned, she was wearing this, and though I'm not a fan of the really pale hand-painted skins in Second Life that seemed to be popular with the fashionistas, I will admit that I could see what the allure was- Jaime looked stunning in this, as if she were made of some fine porcelain or china. The pictures don't do it justice. For a fleeting flicker of a fragment of a second, I understood high fashion. Then it was all gone and I was hoping they would put on bikinis again. :-)

Lady of Tigers

My wife said "I love that tiger print!" and I thought I was missing something, because I was looking for something orange and black, like the Cincinnati Bengals football helmets. No, as always, she was right, on the dress as you can see is a print of a tiger, tiger burning bright...

In that Cute PolkaDot Dress

I don't know how women keep track of all their outfits but they do seem to have an encyclopedic knowledge of not only their own clothes, but the clothes of their friends too. My wife said to Jaime "Those boots would look great with that polka dot dress you have" and a few minutes later Jaime was wearing the outfit you see here and saying "This one? I agree!" and then on went the show.

The Girl Next Door Meets Slash?

Jaime's fashion show, part 1 or what both my wife and I hope will be many, was fantastic because she pulled out so many things and matched them together. The shrug you see in the picture with the hat is by Chip Midnight, one of the very oldest clothing makers in Second Life, while the shorts she is wearing are made by my Mrs. The hat is just a classic, somewhere Guns and Roses guitarist Slash is wondering who made off with his chapeau.

It was the following pictures I most loved though, because she put on a very clear and fresh-faced skin (yes, in Second Life you can change your skin with just a couple of clicks!) and a sweet Girl-next-Door ponytail hair and then pulled out some sort of latex catsuit and wore that around for a while. It was so surreal!

Jaime Hits the Blog

Last week I ran a picture of my friend Jaime, who has become my wife's friend Jaime, but that was just part of the week of Patriots fun, this week we're getting serious, because Jaime has agreed to let us take some pictures of her going through her famous inventory.

In Second Life, you can buy clothes and shoes and houses and cars and helicopters and anything else you want and keep it all in your inventory. My Second Life wife's inventory is neat and organized and easy to navigate. Mine is a little less so, but helped greatly by the fact I wear the same clothes every day so I don't really need to worry about it.

Then there's Jaime, who has been in Second Life for a very long time and at one time was a pretty famous blogger- she received free items from people and reviewed them for her blog, so she has an enormous inventory and has never really sorted it.

She has promised my wife she will give her several "fashion shows" of all the wonderful clothes and things she has in there, and my wife has promised to take pictures if I'm not around, so we can share some of them here on this blog. I thought I'd start with a few pictures of how Jaime was dressed when she popped by the other day to take my wife hair shopping. (Yes, in Second Life you can shop for hair!)
